I absolutely love the concept of the app Obtainium and they’ve done an incredible job at simplifying the user experience of it well for someone who’s only decently tech savvy. I want to use it more and I’m totally open to alternative app stores and what not. But the current system of Android and apps and everything there just doesn’t support it like I want.

I don’t like redundancy and right now it feels super redundant cuz I can’t find a way to manage every app I need from Obtainium and I’m still reliant on Google and the Play Store for certain things even though I’ve explored so many alternatives and tried to support other possibilities for many months now. I just don’t think we’re quite there yet as a society and as the Android system to be able to support many alternatives seamlessly.

I think we can get there, but it’s probably gonna be a big journey still.
